Why 9+ PH Matters

Why is pH Important?

Your body must maintain the pH of your blood within a narrow range from 7.35 to 7.45.

It does so by constantly using acidic or alkaline buffering materials from within your body.

What is "pH"?

The term "pH" refers to the acidity or alkalinity of a substance.

pH is measured on a scale of 0 (strongly acid) to 14 (strongly alkaline), with 7 being "neutral".

The pH scale is a logarithmic scale, meaning that a pH of 5 is ten times as acid as a pH of 6, and a pH of 9 is ten times as alkaline as a pH of 8.

What is the pH of our food and water?

The modern diet is filled with foods and beverages that are strongly acidic, and which contribute to high levels of acid in our bodies.

Even the majority of bottled waters are acidic, with most falling well below 7 pH.

Eating healthy foods and drinking plenty of good, alkaline water helps reduce our daily acid intake and is an important component of good health.
